Chests contain Currencies. They are spawned in the following ways:

It ordinarily takes five taps to fully unpack a chest, although this can be increased with Time Shard experiments. Without experiments, a chest can theoretically contain between 14 and 29 Runes after merging, although it is likelier to contain closer to 14.
